Information you give us
- Contact form and email. Your name, email address, and message. We use these only to answer you and to fix errors you report.
- Newsletter sign-up. Your email address and, if you give it, your name. We use it only to send the newsletter. Every newsletter has an unsubscribe link.
Please do not send passwords, payment card numbers, Social Security numbers, or identity documents. We do not need them and will delete them.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, this site and the services it uses receive basic technical information when you visit: your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you view, the page that referred you, and the date and time. Our web host and security tools use this to keep the site running and to block attacks. Our analytics tool uses it to count visits and see which guides are useful.

Who we share information with
We do not sell personal information. Information is handled by the service providers that run the site: our web host, our email delivery service, our form and newsletter tools, and Google (analytics and ads). We may also disclose information if the law requires it.
How long we keep it
Contact messages are kept only as long as needed to answer and follow up. Newsletter addresses are kept until you unsubscribe. Analytics data is kept according to the retention setting in Google Analytics.
Your choices and rights
You can ask to see, correct, or delete the information you sent us by writing to the address below. Depending on where you live, including California and the European Union, you may have additional rights under local law. You can also use our opt-out preferences page.
Children
Many of our guides are written for parents, but the site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
